As a leader of a large complex Emergency Communication Center, I focus on the three pillars of technology, training, and people. People are the greatest resource we have, no matter our size.  I was looking for an opportunity to pour into our people, with a focus on our supervisors. They often are overlooked as a group that needs support from the top. After looking at many options, one continuously stood out — Derek Poarch and Associates. The thoughtfulness of the programming, the connection and understanding of ECCs, and the focus on people is what sold me. The outcomes have been far beyond my expectation. Our supervisors are pushing themselves and their teams. They are holding each other accountable. There has been a shift in our culture, our team, and our performance. I would highly recommend bringing in Derek and his team of leaders to help shape and breathe life back into your team!

The leadership development program developed by Derek Poarch and Associates for the Milwaukee Department of Emergency Communications has had a lasting impact on our organization. The program was not a generic leadership course, but a customized experience built around our organization, our leadership team, and our operational environment.

Their process began with individual assessments and interviews, which allowed the training to be tailored specifically to our team. The combination of leadership assessments, strengths-based leadership development, communication training, and team development sessions provided both our senior staff and front-line supervisors with practical tools they could immediately apply in their roles.

One of the most valuable aspects of the program was the work Derek and his team did with us on our organizational vision, mission, and values. That process helped align our leadership team and establish a clearer direction for the future of our organization.

This program has helped us build stronger supervisors, improve communication across the organization, and develop a more cohesive leadership team. I would strongly recommend Derek Poarch and Associates to any public safety or government organization looking to invest in leadership development and organizational growth.
